How to take care of the lithium-ion battery?

Here are some important tips to ensure that your favorite e-bike’s battery will retain its full capacity for longer.

1. Do not leave a charging battery unattended.

As soon as you see that the battery is fully charged, disconnect it from the charger.

2. Charge the battery only with a charger dedicated to the battery.

When you buy an electric bicycle, you get a set of necessary tools and accessories along with it. Among them is a charger dedicated to charging the battery your e-bike is equipped with. Remember to use only it to charge the battery. If it happens that the original charger gets damaged or simply gets lost, contact the manufacturer of your bike.

3. Do not store the battery at very high or very low temperatures.

The optimal storage temperature for the battery is between 10 and 30 degrees Celsius.

4. Do not discharge the battery completely.

It is recommended to recharge the battery when the charge level drops to 20% – 30% of capacity

5. Keep the battery charged.

During the period when you do not use your e-bike for a long time, regularly check the charge level of its battery. It should be at least 60% of capacity. If the charge level drops, recharge the battery to 60% – 80%.

6. Do not charge the battery when the bike is wet.

Make sure the bike and battery are dry before connecting the battery to the charger. Electricity and water are not the best combination.
